About us
AG+L Team
AG+L is headed up by Chef Manager, Kieran Turner. Kieran has a wealth of experience having worked around the UK in a number of well-established bars and restaurants, as well as travelling the world as a Chef with the Armed Forces. Kieran works closely with our local suppliers to create some tasty dishes. In only a few months the AG+L steak burger and the club sandwich have got a following of their own.
The “L” of AG+L
The Larder is home to some of the best produce from small local food producers and a selection of gifts too. You can pick up some wonderful dairy fudge made in Brechin or perhaps some award winning jam made in Edzell, and anything in between. You can even buy some premium bamboo toilet paper that can be found in Angus Grill + Larder’s award aspiring toilets!
Art Gallery + Lavatoriums
We asked three local artists to spend a week in our toilets to create something a little special to help us win awards! Each of our toilets are themed on three Angus towns to create something unique and highlight our commitment to the local area and its producers.
Laura Darling created Arbroath Adventures
Louise Kirby created Fields of Forfar
Pamela Scott created Bonny Brechin
Take some time to spend a penny, you won’t regret it.
Hallie and Maple’s Doggy Play Park
Named after two of our favourite doggies, we have created a secure area for your furry loved ones to stretch their legs. Whether you are on a long journey or popped in for a bite to eat, then feel free to let them have a run around to burn off some energy. Although we are not able to have dogs inside, they are more than welcome in our outside seating area where you can have something to eat or just roast some marshmallows at the fire pit.

- These guys were absolutely top notch today when i had a breakdown nearby with my horse on board. They kindly let us put her in the secure dog park, brought her carrots and brought me and passenger, coffee to warm us up. The food was lovely and the staff just couldn’t have been kinder. 10 stars !!read moreread lessKelsey Logan26 Nov 2023So we enjoyed our lunch at Angus Grill + Larder on the way to Glasgow so much that we stopped in by on the way home too!
Shared the Braveheart burger and Signature hot dog on Saturday, then it was haggis loaded fries, chicken wings and onion rings on Sunday.
The onion rings alone were worth it. Delicious food, good service and funcy toilets!read moreread lessSarah Skakle19 Nov 2023 - Not sure if we got them on a bad day, but I was really disappointed. Burger was dry and quite bland. Kids chicken breast looked like it had been nuked in microwave, shrivelled up and dry. Really overpriced for what we got. Service seemed really flustered, maybe short staffed but left a lot to be desired sadly. Won’t be back which is a shame as we’re often passing this way.read moreread lessSarah Penny10 Nov 2023
- We have just stopped here on our way home from a weekend away and so glad we did. The breakfast rolls and coffees are lovely. Friendly staff and there’s even a secure place especially for dogs to run around in which our Maya loved as well as the hand made cheese dog biscuits ❤️read moreread lessAnnie Greene21 Aug 2023

- We spotted this place on the way up to Aberdeen and swung in on the way back. I had a great burger with perfect fries, and I also picked ups some very rich and tasty fudge😋. I Highly recommend a visit. I hope to visit again in the near future

We couldn’t eat them so complained to the waiter. He was very apologetic and went to speak to the Manager who didn’t even take the time to come and talk to us. We were just ignored and as we left we noticed the banoffee loaf was still on the shelf for sale. Very bad customer service, we won’t be back. So disappointed.read moreread lessJanice Campbell16 Feb 2023
